“Street Wars” – SpY Interventions
Hello Everyone!
So for this week’s blog post, I wanted to do something that pertained to the project. These pictures were taken by a Madrid artist. He first appeared in the 80′s and was known nationally for being a graffiti artist. His art started to transform and take a bit of a different route in the 90′s when he was experimenting with art interventions that were related to the urban environment.
I looked at all of his artwork on his web page and they have a very playful, comical, creative and sometimes serious aspect to his interventions. As he says in the about section on his website, his interventions are “Full of both irony and a positive sense of humor, they appear to inspire a smile, a thought, a conscience to help a little bit more lucid.”
He is a very talented and experienced artist that I really enjoyed looking at all his pieces and interventions of art. Out of all of his art pieces, I chose this one because it just stuck out to me. It is so creative and funny. At first I thought it was those lines for the road, but then I saw the “space ship” and the glow sticks to be it’s ammo. I recommend everyone look at some of his pieces of art and maybe that can spark an interest or thought?
Good luck everyone on the last and final project. I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!
