While doing research on Rhizome, I came across something that I found very interesting. Jie Qi is a rising senior student at Columbia University, majoring in mechanical engineering, who has created an electronic pop up book. The book contains a combination of paper, electronics, mechanics, and uses computation to decode the actions that the reader implies. The video below demonstrates how the electronic book works.

Could this be the future for children’s books?
