Nicola L. makes very functional but interesting and whimsical peices of furniture. She usually uses parts of the body such as, eyes, lips and heads- making things like couches, fish tanks, and tables. With making these peices there is a whole new meaning- a playful and interactive funcional peice of artwork.

why haven’t we taken furniture to this level before? It’s sort of a fun plan of people engaging with people. Ie. I had a long day and i am tired so I will sit on my foot shaped couch to rest my feet… nonsense!
Exactly, why can’t furniture be fun? These pieces are completely non-traditional but they’re perfectly functional so they aren’t just nice to look at.
This is really cool, I think reasons why people aren’t engaging to contemporary furniture is because people are scared of changes or because of the fact that it’s different. But, slowly there are some designs that people are accepting.
